“Once again Park Ranger Brock Cliffhanger and his 2 Jr Park Rangers (Jack and Warren) take off on another adventure and I’m happy to go along with them.”
“This time the author takes us to the yearly Jr.Park Ranger training program held at the Smokey Mountain Ranger station.”
“The book begins with a brief history of the Smoky Mountains, the geography of the park, when it was declared a National Park and why it was referred to by the Cherokee as “Land of the Blue Smoke”.”
“As the Jr. Park Rangers are taken on a tour of the park we learn along with them about the great fire of 2016, the damage it caused and the efforts to repair the damage.”
“The book goes into lot’s of detail about the plant life and animal life that inhabit the park, both native and non-native to the park.
“As in the first book, the Rangers are careful to explain the need for caution and being prepared when hiking as well as the dangers of hiking without the correct precautions in place.”
“Written well the story moves smoothly from start to finish and is a quick read.”
“Hopefully there will be more Ranger Cliffhanger stories to come, this is a wonderful way for kids to learn about conservation and the majesty of our National Parks, considering how many National Parks are located in the USA it would be a great series to have.”
“The only thing I can suggest as to the addition of any other books would be that a small map of the park being discussed in the book would be nice so that readers can see the points of interest made in the story line.”
